Jimmy Clemens Youth Ambassador Award
Award Requirements
This award is for any youth bowler who is a current member in good standing of the Central Ohio USBC and has bowled a minimum of 5 years in a certified youth program. This bowler has exhibited good sportsmanship, i.e., losing with grace, winning with dignity, being a team player, having a positive attitude, is supportive, is respectful and follows the rules. Other qualities would include being kind, helpful and having respect for the game. Download application below, fill out and mail to the Central Ohio USBC at 643 S. Hamilton Rd, Columbus, Ohio, 43213.
The winner of this award will receive a one (1) time award of $500.00 to be deposited into their SMART account.
Award Background
​Mr. Clemens was a man of high integrity who loved the sport of bowling. He loved working with youth bowlers, coaching, and promoting the sport. He joined the Greater Columbus Men’s Bowling Association Board of Directors in 1970. A year later, he was on the board of the Greater Columbus Youth Bowling Association, serving as an officer for both groups over the years. He supervised the Central Ohio Youth Classic Traveling League beginning in 1973 – the same year he became President of the GCYBA. He was the Region 5 Director for the Ohio State YBA for several years. He also served on the Ohio State Bowling Association Board of Directors for many years. Mr. Clemens was an In-State Instructor for the Young American Bowling Alliance – training over 950 students as coach instructors. Jim was a charter member of the Central Ohio Bowling Council and served as President of the Ohio Bowling Council. He performed on the lanes with two 300 games to his credit. Mr. Clemens was a member of the Ohio Bowling Hall of Fame and the Central Ohio USBC Hall of Fame (formerly the GCMBA).

Rachel Goldman

Rachel Goldman is an outstanding example of leadership, dedication, and sportsmanship both on and off the lanes. A regular competitor at Sequoia Pro Bowl and in numerous tournaments across Ohio and beyond, Rachel has earned a reputation not just for her bowling skills, but for her remarkable kindness and inclusivity. Known for cheering on her direct competition and welcoming shy bowlers into the fold, she naturally brings people together. Outside of the bowling center, Rachel commits her time to the Gahanna community, volunteering for local youth initiatives, supporting her Temple, and assisting athletes with the Special Olympics. Her selflessness, calm leadership, and genuine care for others truly embody the spirit of a youth ambassador.
